Our purpose

PromiseDesk helps merchants identify, prepare, submit, and track eligible GlobalPost 2Day Promise claims. The PromiseDesk Claim Assistant Chrome extension has one purpose: securely carry out that claim workflow for the PromiseDesk merchant account paired with the browser.

Information we handle

Depending on how you use PromiseDesk, the service and extension may handle:

• Merchant and claim-contact details, including a name and claim-routing email address.
• Account-agreement records, including the accepted Terms version, timestamp, IP address, and browser user agent.
• Authentication information, including a one-time pairing token for the connected browser.
• Shipment and claim information, including tracking and order numbers, dates, events, amounts, weight, package count, origin and destination postal information, service availability, rates, claim type, and claim explanation.
• Generated timeline evidence and the contents needed to complete the GlobalPost claim form.
• Connection, queue, status, and error information needed to operate and secure the service.
• Filing-integrity events, such as a blocked edit, blocked manual navigation or submission, processing-tab closure, or filing timeout.

ShipStation opportunity audit

The 90-day audit may compare non-GlobalPost shipments with current ShipStation rates to identify possible GlobalPost candidates. PromiseDesk stores the resulting shipment identifier, status, weight, package count, zone, and rate summary, but does not add recipient names or street addresses to the saved opportunity report.

PromiseDesk writes a ShipStation tag only after the merchant confirms that action. Tagging does not purchase a label or change the selected service, shipment weight, or package details.

How the Chrome extension works

The extension communicates with app.promisedesk.com over HTTPS to retrieve work assigned to the paired merchant account and report the result. It can open and interact with the specific GlobalPost claim form hosted by Alchemer, enter the required claim information, attach evidence, and confirm the outcome.

The pairing token is stored in Chrome's local extension storage until it is cleared, replaced, or the extension is removed. Active claim state may be stored temporarily in Chrome's session storage so interrupted work can resume.

To protect claim routing and filing accuracy, PromiseDesk-controlled form fields are read-only during automatic processing. If the extension blocks an attempt to change those fields or interrupt the filing, it reports the event type, form page, protected field name, extension version, and connected installation. It does not report replacement text entered into a protected field.

What the extension does not do

• It does not read or sell browsing history.
• It does not run on unrelated websites.
• It does not use information for advertising, credit, or lending purposes.
• It does not download or execute remote program code.

Service providers and claim destination

PromiseDesk may use infrastructure and security providers to operate the service. Claim information is sent to GlobalPost through its Alchemer-hosted claim form when an authorized claim is prepared or submitted. We do not sell personal information.

Website and app analytics

PromiseDesk uses limited Google Analytics on promisedesk.com and app.promisedesk.com to measure website visits, signup clicks and completions, setup-step visits and completion, general dashboard section visits, and explainer-video plays. Google processes these events and technical information such as browser, device, and approximate location to provide reports. Analytics cookies can persist for up to 90 days and help connect a browser's visits across our website and merchant app.

Limited Analytics runs automatically without a popup or an account setting. Previously saved opt-outs are respected across both sites for up to 180 days, as are Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track browser settings. When an opt-out is detected, our analytics cookies are removed and collection stops.

Analytics is not installed in the admin dashboard, Chrome extension, or pages containing verification/reset links. App events use fixed step and section labels. We do not send account identifiers, account details, shipment data, claim data, search/filter values, form contents, or arbitrary URL parameters to Google Analytics. Google advertising signals, ad personalization, and automatic form measurement are disabled.

Retention and your choices

We keep service, claim, accounting, and security records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide PromiseDesk, maintain accurate claim history, meet legal obligations, and prevent abuse. You can disconnect the extension by clearing its pairing details or uninstalling it. Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of information associated with your merchant account, subject to records we must retain.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information in transit and at rest. No security system is perfect, but we limit extension access to the production PromiseDesk app and the specific GlobalPost claim form required for the workflow.
